Who was the last Great Person? I mean on the national/global level. Who was the last person you felt belonged in a category with Martin Luthor King Jr., Lincoln, The Founding Fathers, Gandhi? Why do you believe that person was/is Great? If you don’t believe a Great Person has existed for awhile, why do you think that?

It makes me sad to see so much hate in the word. I fear I won’t see the day when people accept each other regardless of their lifestyle, beliefs, nationality or race. That being said, everyday, someone is fighting to make the world better. The answer isn’t to wallow in this fear, but instead to work toward the goal of a world without hate, inspiring everyone else to take the same stand, until the population of the world finally screams out that it will be torn apart by prejudice and hate. We will not damn those around us for being being different, instead we will build a world from the foundation of our differences!

After my last blog about changing the word, I thought that I might start devoting more time to writing about the subject. There are so many points to discuss and so many opinion on how to in act change, so it shouldn’t be difficult to write and get others engaged in a dialogue.

Today, I would like to know what you think is the first step to changing the world.

Personally, I believe that the first step to changing the world is to purge our world of discrimination, racism, and mistrust through a culture of acceptance. I know there are a lot people in the world that hold on tightly to their discrimination and hate, but I believe everyone is capable of letting it go. If everyone can begin to accept that other people have different beliefs and ways of life, we can make some real progress.

Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. It may be difficult, but even those who hate and discriminate against you deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. This way of interacting with others is not conditional, it is simply the way people should treat others at all times.

That’s my opinion, what do you think? What’s the first step in changing the world?
